Privacy Policy

PunkRacer ("the game", "we", "us") is an online anti-grav pod-racing game published by Rat King Labs. This policy explains what data the game collects, why, and how it is handled. We collect the minimum needed to run accounts, leaderboards and multiplayer.

What we collect

• Account — the callsign (username) you choose and a password. Passwords are never stored in plain text; they are stored only as a salted bcrypt hash.
• Gameplay data — race results, best lap times, finishing positions, your in-game GCRED balance, owned/equipped cosmetics, and your control-key settings.

What we do NOT collect

• No real name, email address, or phone number is required to play.
• No location data, contacts, photos, or microphone access.
• No advertising identifiers, no third-party ad networks, and no analytics/tracking SDKs.

How we use it

• To create and authenticate your account (via a signed token / JWT).
• To save your progress, cosmetics and currency between sessions.
• To show per-track leaderboards and to match you into multiplayer races.

Where it is stored

Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by our infrastructure provider. Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing, and we use no third-party trackers.

Data retention & deletion

Your data is kept while your account exists. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at [email protected] from a message that includes your callsign, and we will remove it.

Children

PunkRacer is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy as the game evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
